Reducing Journeys and Traffic

The primary environmental benefit of MDB delivery is the ability to reduce the number of journeys and levels of traffic caused by the ever growing demand for delivery services. As our couriers are able to make collections and deliveries on a single journey, this allows us to fully optimise journeys undertaken for deliveries. The ability to send items via MDB delivery replaces the need for individual journeys being made to posting centers for sending an item for delivery. This change in the way we send deliveries can help to significantly reduce journeys/traffic caused by deliveries and the damaging emissions they generate. A residual benefit of reducing levels of road traffic is that it will generate a sustainable culture for safer roads. Safer roads will promote behaviors for people adapting to more natural/sustainable modes of transport, such as walking and cycling. Creating a platform that generates such behavioral changes to how people move around in general will help to further reduce levels of traffic and emissions created by non delivery journeys, In summary, MDB delivery hopes to create an environment that is more conducive to an environmentally sustainable future, whilst also protecting and promoting personal well-being, both mentally, and physically.

Reducing Emissions

As mentioned above, our process creates a foundation to facilitate an overarching reduction of emissions generated by delivery processes. At MDB delivery we intend to build on this foundation by encouraging our couriers to use more sustainable means of transport. The MDB delivery process provides a level of governance for our couriers that underpin their operation as an approved courier. We intend to use this governance to incentivise our approved couriers to use more efficient/natural modes of transport, in an effort to further reduce widespread emissions and greenhouse gases generated by the delivery process.

Reducing Waste

The MDB delivery service allows users to return packaging of deliveries for it to be directly reused for other deliveries, we call this our Packaging for Life initiative, It works by a user simply placing their used, reusable packaging unit in their MDB product for a passing MDB courier to collect,. The courier can then naturally transport the packaging unit right back to where it needs to be at the end of their journey (to a posting center). Such widespread changes throughout the delivery system can help to protect and preserve nature by cancelling the need for practices such as deforestation that currently satiate the infinite demand for packaging.
